Rouge
Privacy Policy
Rouge is built on one idea: your body's data is yours, and yours alone. This policy explains what that means in practice.
Last updated 1 August 2026. Rouge is made by Lische Dynamics Limited, a company registered in Kenya.
The short version
- Your cycle data never leaves your device. Your period dates, symptoms, moods and notes are stored only on your phone, and we never receive them.
- There is no account and no login. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number to use the app.
- We never sell your data, and we never show you ads.
Your cycle data stays on your device
Everything you log in Rouge, including your period dates, symptoms, moods, flow and any notes, is stored in an encrypted database on your phone. It is private by design rather than by policy, because we simply never receive it. There is no Lische Dynamics server holding your health information, so there is nothing for us to lose, sell or hand over.
Because this data lives only on your device, it is your responsibility to keep too. If you delete the app or reset your phone without a backup, your logged history goes with it. You can erase everything at any time from within the app under Settings, using Delete all data, which removes it permanently from your device.
Apple Health
If you choose to, Rouge can read cycle information you already keep in Apple Health so you do not have to enter your history twice. This happens only after you grant permission on your device, the data is used only inside the app on your phone, and it is never sent to us. You can turn this off at any time in the iOS Health settings, and Rouge works fully without it.
Anonymous product analytics
To understand how the app is used and where it can be improved, Rouge collects a small amount of anonymous product analytics. These are limited to a fixed set of app events, for example that the app was opened, that a screen was viewed, or that a purchase completed. The app can only ever send those specific events and nothing else.
Your cycle data is never part of this. Period dates, symptoms, moods and notes are never sent through analytics. The analytics do not identify you personally and are not linked to a name, email or phone number.
This analytics data is processed on our behalf by a third-party analytics provider, on servers in the European Union, and is held there for up to seven years under our agreement with that provider. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings, and doing so stops any further events from being sent.
Purchases
Rouge offers optional paid features, including detailed cycle reports and a subscription. These purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation from Apple that a purchase was made so we can unlock the feature, but we never see or store your card number or payment details. Apple's own privacy policy governs how your payment information is handled.
If you ask Apple for a refund, Apple may ask us for information about that purchase before it decides. Where that happens, we tell Apple how much of the purchase you had used, whether the app delivered it properly, whether we had offered you a free trial or sample beforehand, and what we think the outcome should be. Apple makes the decision, not us.
We never send your cycle data as part of this. Your period dates, symptoms, moods and notes are never included in a refund request, and there is nothing in what we share that describes your health.
By buying something in Rouge you agree to us sharing that purchase information with Apple when it asks, as set out in our Terms of Use. If you have questions about this, or you want to withdraw that agreement, email legal@lischedynamics.com.
Children
Rouge is a health app that may be used by people under 18. Apart from the anonymous product analytics described above, we receive no personal information from anyone who uses the app, regardless of age: there is no account, and cycle data stays on the device. (Our website's gift and Android waitlist pages work differently: see below.) The appropriate minimum age and any parental-consent requirement will be set in line with the App Store's age rating and applicable Kenyan and international law before public release.
Website and waitlist data
This section is about our website, not the app. Two things here work differently from the rest of this policy: we count visits to our web pages, and the gift page at lischedynamics.com/gift asks for an email address on its Android waitlist form.
We count visits to our web pages so we can see which pages people find useful and whether they go on to the App Store. This counting is anonymous and deliberately small. We record the address of the page, the site or search engine you arrived from, general details about your browser and device, and your IP address, which is used to work out an approximate country. We do not set cookies, we do not store anything in your browser, and we do not collect your name, your email address or any account. Each page view is counted on its own, so it is not joined up with your other visits, with anything you do in the Rouge app, or with any waitlist email address you may have given us. This counting is processed on our behalf by the same third-party analytics provider used by the app, on servers in the European Union, and is held there for up to seven years.
If you would rather not be counted, turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser. Our website checks both and sends nothing at all when either is on. Blocking JavaScript for this site has the same effect.
If you enter your email address on the Android waitlist form, Lische Dynamics Limited is the controller of that data. We store the email address you gave us, the time you submitted it, and the fact that it came from the Android waitlist form. We use it to tell you when Rouge reaches Android, and occasionally to share news about our apps. We do not use it for anything else, and we never sell it or pass it to anyone for their own marketing.
You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete this information at any time by emailing legal@lischedynamics.com. We keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
Your rights
Because your cycle data never leaves your device, you are always in direct control of it: you can view it, change it or erase it entirely from within the app at any time. For the anonymous analytics we hold, you can stop collection at any time in Settings, and you may contact us to ask about the data we process. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the Kenya Data Protection Act or the EU General Data Protection Regulation, and we will honour those rights. If you gave us your email address on the Android waitlist, your rights over that are set out in Website and waitlist data above.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Rouge handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app.
